This is the main sewer line replacement at the house on Monument. Working in this alleyway presented some challenges, but the crew at SA Toler Construction was up to the task. We replaced the original terracotta sewer pipe that traveled from the basement, under the bludstone patio and the carriage house, out to the alley, using a pipe-bursting method. The rain caught us during the last stages of backfilling and tamping.

S.A. Toler Construction Inc. stands by their motto "Go-Trenchless-Preserve the Beauty. When backfilling an excavation we use a tamper to compact the soil, so minimal settling will occur. We replaced some cast-iron sewer service pipe in the basement floor of a home in Varina recently. We used a pipe bursting method to replace the pipe to avoid cutting over 40 feet of concrete floor. We had to cut the concrete in a few areas to make connections to tie ins. The team did a great job keeping the area clean during the process by putting up plastic sheeting.
We replaced a lead water service pipe in the city of Richmond. The water meter was located behind the garage and the water line traveled under the garage to the basement. From the team at S.A. Toler Construction, wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving.

These photos of the job site show the magnitude of the warehouse we worked in at Mondelez. Lots of different construction trades on site during the holiday shut down at the plant.
Roots in a sewer pipe are a common occurance in old terracotta drain lines. Once the pipe is compromised/cracked there is no stopping this penetration. Snaking and jetting are only short term solutions. The roots will continue to come back, clogging up the pipes and causing backups into your home. Call S.A. Toler Construction Inc for all your sewer line replacement needs. We have the tools and knowledge to give you the most economical and effient job for your special conditions.
