Another trenchless sewer line replacement in the Bellevue neighborhood of Richmond. Scott Toler is directing the dig for his son William who is operating the excavator.
We replaced a sewer pipe from the basement to the front yard at this residence in Richmond. we used a trenchless "pipe-bursting" method because the exisitng pipe traveled under the front porch and bluestone walkway.
The pipe was pulled through the back door through the house to the basement door.

This is the main sewer line replacement at the house on Monument. Working in this alleyway presented some challenges, but the crew at SA Toler Construction was up to the task. We replaced the original terracotta sewer pipe that traveled from the basement, under the bludstone patio and the carriage house, out to the alley, using a pipe-bursting method.
The rain caught us during the last stages of backfilling and tamping.

When backfilling an excavation we use a tamper to compact the soil, so minimal settling will occur. We often remove the sod from our excavation area and replace it after. We try to make it look like we haven't been there.

We replaced some cast-iron sewer service pipe in the basement floor of a home in Varina recently. We used a pipe bursting method to replace the pipe to avoid cutting over 40 feet of concrete floor.
We had to cut the concrete in a few areas to make connections to tie ins. The team did a great job keeping the area clean during the process by putting up plastic sheeting.
We replaced a lead water service pipe in the city of Richmond. The water meter was located behind the garage and the water line traveled under the garage to the basement. William Toler is seen running the boring machine as Scott Toler and Andrew Fortune are locating above ground.

Working in the dark at Mondelez (Nabisco/Kraft) to install a new industrial waste line this week.
We are using a trenchless directional drill to bore under the existing slab in the plant and install new pipe and connect in the new building.
Working inside the plant, in the pitch dark was a bit creepy. (the photos don't show how dark it really was)

Lots of different construction trades on site during the holiday shut down at the plant.
