My friend on the bike also was treated with the laser on a painful triggerpoint from rotator coffee surgery. Before he left he was moving his arm with full range of motion without any pain! Other treatments were for migraine, and she found relief. Wow. We met and discussed training and use of this FDA Cleared Class III Medical Device and had dinner at "The Club" in Birmingham AL. I took some pictures of the view from this mountaintop restaurant with years of history in this city. The second picture is a plaque I received from Mike Barbour, inventor of the Microlight ML830 Cold Laser and my friend. It's a plaque with my name on it as a member of the Microlight Medical Board. Couldn't be more proud of anything. The last picture shows facial trigger points that can be used to treat facial problems and even create aesthetic changes in the face. Can't wait to see this in action. Already have several appointments, one with a veteran with spinal stenosis and other issues, one for a man with carpal tunnel and the others for various pain issues. Someone took a picture of me, tonight, watching one of the clients expound on how good he was feeling this evening, and you can see that I get as much out of these treatments as those receiving them. This works. It's unlike anything else my friends! The veteran in this picture needs a laser at home because of his extreme injuries. Sheila L. Stephens November 30, 2020 at 2:18 AM · Tonight, on this last night of Thanksgiving weekend, I am thankful for what's been given to me, and even for what's been taken away. We don't always know what's in our best interest, but our Father does, and is vigilant in protecting us from what we think we want. We all experience pain. Sometimes what we want is outside our grasp, no matter how hard we work for it. Sometimes, people we love leave, either for other people or for their eternal home. Those are things completely out of our control. I still pray for what I want, specifically, but I have learned that God is the final arbiter of what my life holds and where my path goes...because He loves me so very much. Another poem which is in my upcoming book! I pray, again, that it reaches the people who need to see it. It's based on C.S. Lewis' vision of God as a Lion. Sheila L. Stephens November 26, 2020 at 11:32 AM · Happy Thanksgiving to everyone on this day the Lord has given us. Being thankful doesn't come easily to all of us...we've seen too much that humans do to each other, either intentionally or out of concern for self above the needs of others. But there's always something to be thankful for if we look for it. Focus on negative and the brain looks for that in every situation. But tell it that the world still holds wonders and people doing selfless acts and it will alert you to those things as well. It's the way our wonderful brain operates, on input from our mind, spirit, and will. That's all it knows...that which we tell it. So, on this day, I choose to look at what's good in my life, not discounting that which is not, but giving more weight to the things that bring joy, peace, and love rather than things which hurt and sadden me. Those of us in law enforcement have a difficult time doing this because of all that we've seen and because of what we've experienced, but with repetition, it's entirely possible to foster a grateful attitude toward the present AND the future. This doesn't mean to let down our guard, God knows we can never do that, but it means to acknowledge that our lives, and those of our loved ones, are in the Hands of Someone infinitely more powerful than we. When I become anxious, I focus on that very real fact! I thank those LEOs still on the streets today, working while the rest of us enjoy time off with family. I remember those days and am grateful that officers continue to hold the line between the public and those who would prey upon them.
