It's #TestimonialTuesday, and this 7-year-old has been taking lessons 🏊 with SafeSplash + SwimLabs since we opened in June of 2019. Isabella DiVincenzo climbed from a beginner to an Intermediate 1.
Her dad, Patrick of Toledo, said: "My daughter Izzy has learned to be self-mobile in the water, just like when she learned to walk." The first grader has the determination of someone twice her age, always willing to give it her all in the water. But you can tell she's having fun, too, by her huge smile 😄 after every skill she's mastered. Ask her what her favorite part about swim lessons: "I LOVE diving for rings at the end ‼️ I love everything ‼️"
Patrick has different reasons for LOVING the swim school. He called our pandemic sanitiation procedures "some of the best I've seen anywhere." The single dad also gives a "thumbs up" to the PRIVATE DRESSING ROOMS saying it's much easier than some places where the only option you have is to take your daughter with you to the men's locker room or let her go alone into the women's changing space.
"It's also great that SafeSplash does swimming ONLY and you don't require a membership or long-term contract," he said.

Making a Believer Out of Yourself
It's #TestimonialTuesday! Mike Altenburg has given his grandson, Robert, a gift that he won't outgrow or get tired of - swimming lessons ‼️ The eight-year-old started taking 💦 lessons shortly after the swim school opened in the Summer of 2019. The Sylvania Grandpa says paying for weekly lessons has been a great investment.
"I'm extremely proud of the progress he's made," Mike said. "I can't wait to go swimming with him some day so he can show me what's he's learned!"
The third grader started at Beginner 1 and is now in Intermediate 2. 🏅 Robert's mom, Andrea, said: "His Grandpa has always been encouraging him to master swimming, and he's progressed faster than other places we've taken lessons. We love that we can continue taking classes year-round."
Mrs. Altenburg said her family has felt safe coming to the swim school throughout the pandemic. "Everything is wiped clean between classes and masks are always worn," she said. "All of the instructors have face shields - always."
Andrea added: "The staff is wonderful, supportive and encouraging. Robert loves his classes and getting high fives 🖐after he does a skill well."

It's #testimonialtuesday 🤗These little kiddos often come to swim lessons 🏊♀️ decked out in The University of Toledo Rocket gear. There's a reason they are SUPER fans - their dad is UT Football Coach Jason Candle.
Avery, 3, and Cameron, 2, are enrolled in semi-private lessons, 💦 something their mom, Nicole, calls a blessing. "I'm grateful to have them together during COVID so it reduces our exposure to other people," Mrs. Candle said.
The swim school is doing a fantastic job of keeping everyone safe, 😷 according to Nicole. "I feel comfortable attending lessons even during this time. I like that they are limiting people in the lobby, wiping down areas and that the instructors are wearing face shields."
The two toddlers weren't always comfortable in the water. Both kids experienced separation anxiety, but their mom says the swim school staff handled it perfectly. "The instructors are patient and help ease the kids until they're comfortable," she said.
Starting them young was extremely important to the parents. "We want our kids to be water safe and know how to swim because we have a pool in our backyard," said the mom, who is expecting Baby #3 in February.
Coach Candle doesn't get to attend many lessons because of his busy schedule, but loves seeing videos of their progress. They also appreciate the flexibility to schedule make-up lessons since the family often travels with the team.
If you ask the kiddos what they love about lessons, Nicole laughs and says: "the suckers" - the sweet treats at the front desk definitely motivates the kids to do their best.
