During this time of crisis, we are all hoping and praying that you are all doing well, and we still wish to be of service to you.
We are still open for "curbside service" during to C19 crisis, but we are minimized in compliance with Governor Brown's directive. What this means is that you can come to our North or South Salem offices and still get service, but not come in to the office. When you arrive, call in on your cell phone and we will come out to you. Let the technician know what is wrong and he or she will then take your hearing aid(s) into the office and see what they can do. If they can revive your aid at that point, they'll bring it back out to you. If not, they will come out to see you and let you know what the next step will be.
Our hours are a bit shorter than usual as well, 9 - 4, Monday through Friday, unless further shutdown by the government is implemented.

Truth: The longer you wait, the harder your hearing loss will be to treat. That's because the auditory system in your brain isn't stimulated, and so the brain stops recognizing sound. That's why people with hearing loss who wait to get hearing aids sometimes find that they don't help as much. Fortunately, our brains can "relearn" to hear, thanks to neuroplasticity — the fairly recent finding that the brain can reprogram itself into very old age with the proper stimulation. Practically speaking, that means you have to teach your brain to hear again, by wearing the hearing aids regularly.

The Jones' back story
After visiting an ENT doctor, an otologists and five audiologists ( 1 of which was dismissed, one who graduated, one who performed the tests in less than an half- hour, and one who had absolutely no experience with PHONAK hearing aids or new technology) a friend referred us to SCOT FRINK. Over the course of eight month my husband was first fitted with a cros and a hearing aid. A determination was made that he needed aids fitted to both ears. Therefore, he went without one hearing aid while they ordered a replacement for the cros. Adjustment to hearing loss was exacerbated by all the above circumstances.

What is Real Ear Measurements testing?

During real-ear measurements, a thin probe microphone is inserted into the ear canal alongside the hearing aid. The audiologist obtains readings of the exact sound levels the user is receiving from the hearing aid while listening to various recorded speech samples.
