There is plenty of talk about handwashing, distancing, and wearing a mask to prevent contracting or spreading the COVID-19 virus. And all those things are still very, very important. But there are other things we can do, in addition to those recommendations, to fight the COVID-19 virus. And that is, keep our children's (and us too), body's strong. Here are a few tips: * Get enough sleep (very important). * Keep your heart healthy by walking or exercise every day. For example, take the stairs instead of the elevator. But be careful. Avoid physical exhaustion. * Stay well-hydrated. * Eat healthy meals. * And avoid overeating to deal with fears.

Reading with children is one of the most influential activities that parents can do; it has a permanent impact on their cognitive development and their learning potential. ⠀ ⠀ Daily reading time can, and should, be started around six months of age. Infants do best with simple board books where you point out something on each page. ⠀ ⠀ Don't worry if they would rather just chew on the books - they are curiously exploring, and that is learning too! ⠀ ⠀ Books with simple flaps that open on each page also are enticing to children of this age. ⠀ ⠀ - Kathleen Traylor, M.D.

From the Salud Pediatric Staff: We wanted to take a moment to “thank all” of our parents (and our patients) for trusting us during these uncertain times. We are humbled and grateful for the opportunity to partner alongside you to ensure your child fulfills their potential for the collective well-being and future prosperity. The elevator game. Something you can try if your child is anxious about getting into an elevator.
Sports are an excellent way for children to improve their hand-eye coordination. While the eye is typically formed by the time kids are 6 to 9 years old, their brains are still learning how to process visual information. Children are able to gauge speed before they start to predict direction, so activities like baseball, basketball, tennis, and other sports can train this function. https://buff.ly/31O2XdM
