Samuel “Skip” Schumann, III, M.D., is a clinical instructor of medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed his undergraduate education at Wofford College in 2007 and received his M.D. from MUSC’s College of Medicine in 2011. He went on to complete his internal medicine internship and residency at MUSC in 2014. The following year he served as one of MUSC’s internal medicine chief residents. During this year, Dr. Schumann was involved in the education of residents, interns, and medical students through their internal medicine training. He also became engaged in quality improvement at MUSC and healthcare utilization research. In July 2015 he followed these interests in medical education, research, and quality improvement both by joining university internal medicine faculty and by starting an academic internal medicine fellowship.
