Samuel's Hats was founded by Samuel (Sam) Castro in New York City in 1988. For over 25 years Sam built a tremendous following and established extremely strong relationships with the top designers around the world. After a long and successful career Sam sold the business and retired in 2015.
In May of 2018 the business was sold to Bob Murphy and Kevin Williams. Bob and Kevin are business partners who reside with their families in Richmond, VA. They were drawn to the business due to the longevity of the brand which is celebrating it's 30th year in existence this year! Bob and Kevin intend to reestablish Samuel's Hats as a leader in providing high-end hats created by the world's top designers. To that end they have brought Sam out of retirement and Sam will consult for the business for the foreseeable future. Designers have been delighted to hear this news, and we know Sam's long-standing customers will be happy to hear this news, as well!
Our current offerings include such designers as Kathy Jeanne, Giovannio, Whittall and Shon, Louise Green, just to name a few. And we will be adding many more as time goes on.
