🌞Light: Bright indirect light. Do not place in direct sunlight, the sun will scorch the leaves and it will fade in color.
💦Water: Keep the soil evenly moist, but never let the roots get soggy. Water just before the soil surface dries.
💧Humidity: Above average humid conditions.
🌱Soil: Prefers acidic soil. Potting soil with some added perlite/pumice or peat moss/coco coir. Coco coir is more acidic.
Fun Facts:
🌱The leaves tend to fold together at night, like a pair of praying hands, then come back down during the day.
🌱Maranta was named for Bartolomeo Maranta, an Italian physician and botanist of the sixteenth century.
🌱The Marantaceae plant family includes both the Maranta and Calathea genera. Closely related and very similar in appearance, they’re both often referred to as prayer plants.

Have a warm, sunny window? Bring the coconut palm into your home for a tropical, vacation feel.
🌞Light: SUN lovers! Can withstand some shade but will slow its growth. Give them as much sun as possible to grow properly. They hate cold drafts, but can tolerate cooler temperatures.
💦Water: Keep it consistently moist. Don’t let it completely dry out.
💧Humidity: Average household humidity is fine, but will thank you for some added humidity.
🌱Soil: Fast draining but retain moisture. Potting soil with added vermiculite.
Tip: Coconut palms love and need fertilizer! In time you’ll need to give it a bigger container or plant it in the ground and at that point it will begin to develop flowers and voila, COCONUTS! 🥥
One of my new favorites- Calathea Facsiata. The beautiful glazed leaves LEAF me in awe. Like her sister Calathea Orbifolia, she has big oval leaves with beautiful ridges and what looks drawn on stripes. I have one left at the shop!

I had a blast potting up these goegeous Alocasia Odora ‘Elephant Ear’ and Calathea Warcewiczii ‘Jungle Velvet’ for an awesome customer! She picked the plants, pots and the stand and this was the final look. Who doesn’t love a beautiful pair…🌱💚🌱

🦚Selaginella uncinata aka Peacock fern or peacock spikemoss is neither a fern nor a moss. It falls in the lycophytes family due to its fern-like foliage.
Lycophytes are the oldest living vascular plants that date back to 410 million years ago making it prehistoric. It has iridescent blue, green and bronze foliage and can grow in a hanging basket, terrarium or in a shady humid garden. Restock tomorrow!

Native to the desert regions of South Africa to Tanzania.
This beautiful, creepy, alien like flowering succulent is known for having one of the largest flowers in the plant kingdom! Some blooms can be up to 9.8 inches!
Zulu giants typically bloom in the fall which is triggered by shorter daylight.

✨🪴The Ficus of your dreams!🪴✨ Here is Ficus Altissima aka Council tree aka Yellow gem Elastica in an 8” pot. We are so excited to carry these at the shop since they’re one of the harder to find rubber trees! With its bright lemon and lime variegated foliage it’s definitely a show stopper in any home or patio. These beauties will be available at the shop on Wednesday or buy online now and choose curbside pickup! Yay! 🪴

Aglaonema Tigress, Maria and Golden Bay aka Chinese Evergreen. Aglaonema are known for their MANY varieties, colors and easy care. Don’t have a ton of bright light? Aglanomena can tolerate medium to low light conditions. Just remember, if you have your plants in medium/low light you’ll be watering less often. 💦
