Couple new additions for this weekend! First is the Country Terrine - pork, apple, and mushroom wrapped in bacon, next to some brown bread, cider mustard, and smoked chicken of the woods mushrooms. And we’ve got Peameal Bacon Sandwiches back on! Maybe it was the wait and the anticipation, but this may be our best batch of peameal bacon to date. Corned Beef is also making its return on this weekend’s menu.

Looks like the Biergarten will have to wait until Saturday, but if we catch a little break in the weather we’ll set up our outdoor tables as soon as we can. Got pretty boot-y out on the lot last weekend! We’ll have the Biergarten up and running as much as we can this weekend, but looking at all the rain in the forecast it seems like tonight’s the night! After lugging easily 50lbs worth of beer outside last week, @auntwiwi will be ready for ya. Grab a pint or a boot and some of @yoadrian9587 ‘s famous pierogies. Stuffed with smoked mushrooms, topped with black walnuts and sage, and sitting on some caramelized onion soubise. Autumn on a plate. And vegetarian! Open outside all day today and hopefully here and there the rest of the weekend. And takeout as per usual. This week’s Thirsty Thursday dinner menu brought to you by easily the most Central/Western NY dish we’ve ever done at Sawhorse: BEEF ON WECK with salt potatoes. Caraway-crusted roast beef brisket with horseradish and beef jus. On a homemade Kummelweck roll. Our sous chef Matt @yoadrian9587 is a Buffalo native and has wanted to get this on our menu since we opened. He’s also, tragically, a Bills fan, so we had to feature the Bills Labatt Blue bucket as well. This will be the last post to mention the NY football team that’s basically from the Midwest.

Happy Thirsty Thursday! Couple favorites returning to this week’s daytime menu. Our Steak Sandwich - marinated and grilled skirt steak from Ridge Top Farm just up the road from the restaurant, biercheese, grilled shallots, and our house steak sauce. Also returning finally is our PEAMEAL BACON. It’s one of our very favorite things and we’re always thrilled when a batch is ready to slice and griddle. Peameal bacon sammies are back available all week. We’ve added Hash and Eggs to our everyday menu as well, something we normally keep reserved for weekend brunches. Might as well brunch during the week, time is meaningless right now anyway. As always buckets and boots are on special today as well! Little known fact: for a brief period in the mid-90s Squirly Dan moved from Letterkenny to Myrtle Beach to cook at a beach bar. This fact is so little-known that literally no one knows it. The result of this move was Sneaky Beaver Tiki Club. And it was as silly and hypothetical as it sounds. The menu included things like: fish tacos, buffalo chicken dip, coconut shrimp, chicken finger baskets, and nachos. There were silly beach bar cocktails, bad costumes, and even worse music. The nights were long and hazy, and quite often made for some tall tales. But everyone always kept their distance and wore a mask. And that’s what’s Squirly Dan’s appreciates about’s you. Only a few more weeks til the sap starts running back north! To celebrate the coming maple season we’re starting Sugar Shack Sundays at Sawhorse. Every Sunday during takeout-only we’ll be running some dessert specials to help sugar-up your wintry Sundays. This week our Maple Eclairs and Maple-Pecan Donuts are 4 for $12, and our Maple Leaf Sandwich cookies are $10/dozen. And at least until March 31st we’ll be able to keep boozing-up your coffees to-go. We’ll be rotating through desserts each week, and we’ll keep the updates on our feed.

We’re going the full week for Asheville Restaurant Week, and adding Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday night dinner service into the line-up for this week only.
