Good morning! Our ReStore is now OPEN!! We’re here Tuesday through Saturday, 10am-3pm. Stop in to see some of the changes we’ve made to keep staff, volunteers, and shoppers safe. We ask everyone to be respectful of social distancing and to wear a mask covering their nose and mouth - it is not an option! There is hand sanitizer as well as a hand washing station available for customer use. The contactless card reader is enabled as well as apple and google pay and we still accept cash. We are accepting donations by appointment only, no exceptions, as we are trying to keep us all safe. If you have donation inquiries, please send an email to restore@schenectadyhabitat.org. If you’re still not comfortable with the in-store shopping experience, you can shop the ReStore online anytime at store.schenectadyrestore.org. We offer curbside pickup of all our items. Today we put the finishing touches on our tree for the "Holiday Trees of Hope" event kicking off tonight at Rivers Casino & Resort, open to the public tomorrow. Stop by and check out our awesome tree put together by our volunteers and staff, as well as all the other trees put together by other local organizations. Guests will be able to purchase $1 and $5 tokens to vote for their favorite trees. All voting donations will go to each charity, and the charity with the most tokens will get an extra bonus donation of $500!
Also, check out the photo from a couple weeks ago when Rivers stopped by for their first day back volunteering. His shirt says it best: we are community! We're so thankful to have Rivers as a partner in our mission.

Good afternoon folks! A friendly reminder that if you're coming to shop at our ReStore, there is no longer a parking booth attendant at the Broadway North Lot (Broadway & Franklin Street.) You must download the Passport Parking app to your smartphone. If you do not have a smartphone, you may call in your plate number to Park Schenectady at 518-346-0614, ext. 8. You MUST use one of these methods, otherwise you will be ticketed. Even if you know you'll be parked for less than the 1 Hour free parking period, you still have to enter your plate information.
All downtown parking lots are1 Hour Free! $1/hour after first hour (8am – 5pm weekdays). Free nights and weekends.

We have kitchen cabinets! We’ve been working hard clearing space to make way for a very generous donation of display cabinets from the Glenville Lowe’s! Currently we have a few smaller sets on the floor and will be bringing in some bigger sets next week. If you’re looking for cabinets for your kitchen renovation, stop in to our ReStore soon as these won’t last long!! Keep checking back here for new sets as we get them in!

Today the volunteers at our construction site were visited by the cookie fairy... Mia, a 4-year-old who loves to bake, and since July has spent time every week baking cookies and delivering them around the area to first responders, essential workers, non-profits and more! Another thank you goes out to Alltown Fresh for providing Week 2 of Wednesday lunch for our hardworking crew yesterday! Yesterday's favorite was the Spicy Tom - roasted turkey, avocado, bacon, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and chipotle aioli on ciabatta bread. It's wonderful to have partners who care about feeding the people who are putting so much time and work into making our mission a possibility. They were also nice enough to give us a variety of coupons to pass out to our volunteers with lunch. Looking forward to what Week 3 will bring!
