We've all heard of horrific freeze damage that has happened to pipes. Sadly some of you have experienced it first hand.
Now that the ground has thawed, some of our irrigation lines will also be breaking apart. Check regularly to be sure you don't have leaks. They may be small at first, but they can become big in a hurry. The sprinklers almost assuredly have a cut-off valve that is separate from your home's water supply. Know where it is should you have to use it.
In a week or two, put the system through its paces to be sure all stations function as they're supposed to. This is the time to hire an irrigation specialist to make adjustments and repairs. But be patient – they're going to be busy, and parts will be in short supply.
