1. YAWN-SIGH TECHNIQUE:For this quick vocal exercise, simply yawn (take in air) with your mouth closed. Then, exhale through your nose as if you are sighing. This will help relax your voice and improve its range. 2. HUMMING WARM-UPS: Humming is one of the best vocal warm-ups because it doesn’t put a lot of strain on your vocal cords. Place the tip of your tongue behind your bottom front teeth and hum up and down the major scale while keeping your mouth closed. Each note should sound like “hmmm” — including the “h” sound is less taxing on your voice. 3. VOCAL STRAW EXERCISE: Take a straw and hum through it. Start at the bottom of your range and slide up to the top slowly and evenly. Then, hum your favorite song through the straw.

Alicia really likes playing piano but sometimes can take longer than some other people to learn new songs. During her show rehearsals she put in her best effort in playing the songs and her bandmates were always willing to take their time with the songs because they knew on show day Alicia always came thorugh. Patience is absolutely crucial in all aspects of being a serious musician, especially when playing in a group.

On National Block It Out Day - this year on Saturday,
November 14, 2020 - We're encouraging everyone who is being bullied, trolled and mistreated online to block out their bully on social media, say no to the negativity, and choose positivity. Block It Out Day is a direct challenge to all forms of cyberbullying. This day works because we all participate and unite to block negativity from our digital lives and, by doing so, erase homophobia, LGBTQ+ discrimination, racism and hatred online.
It’s time to make a change.
It takes bravery, but when a person blocks out their bully, they’re blocking out negative messages and creating a healthy, safe and positive online environment. When that person encourages their friends to do the same, they are leading by example and helping others create a safe space, too. When we come together in this way, we create a ripple effect that erases the spread of hate and cruelty on social media.
On Block It Out Day, you block out more than your bully; you’re blocking out cyberbullying for all.
We are asking everyone to block out their bullies, block the negative messages, and create a positive, safe digital space for themselves and their peers.

Lila really loves learning music theory and found that by learning about things like time signatures and beats per minute, it really helped her in her math classes. When All Else Fails, Music Is There Learn to Play Bass
Bennie really liked playing the bass drum in marching band, but since the COVID pandemic curtailed his marching band activities a lot, he wanted to find something he would like playing when he had some alone time, which seem to be more and more lately. Since he was big fan of Motown & rhythm and blues, he decided to take up the bass. It was great for him to be able to play along with the songs he liked listening to, and it gave him a chance to just be alone with his music.
