Today is the 14th Annual World Day of Bullying Prevention™
Today, students, schools, and communities all over the world are wearing the color BLUE to join in solidarity with fellow supporters across the globe who are standing behind bullying prevention. Together we are calling for an end to all forms of bullying, cyberbullying, cruelty, homophobia, LGBTQ+ discrimination, racism, violence and hatred.
Cleveland West Winter 20/21 shows: Round 3/3. The final round! First up we have Loss For Words! No singers needed! Get ready for an instrumental challenge! Rush, Phish, Allman Bros, Zappa, Snarky Puppy, and much more. Next up Girl Group Evolution! Singers definitely needed! Focusing on the style, power, and vocal prowess of groups from the Andrews Sisters to Destiny’s Child, The Supremes to The Spice Girls— you’re in for a fierce time! 💅✨🎤 Our Last show is Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young's "Deja Vu"! Speaking of a challenge: This show will test your vocal and instrumental abilities all at once! The masters of blending harmony and spectacular songwriting left their mark on the world with this 1970 release. This show will be one for the ages. There you have it folks! Sign ups begin October 12th!
Cleveland West Winter 20/21 shows: Round 2/3. Foo Fighters! Dave Grohl's follow up to Nirvana has been one of the most successful rock outfits of the past 25 years. Get ready for some seriously fun rock and roll! Next show, RIOT GRRRL! From feminist punk originators like Bikini Kill to massive acts like Hole and new groups like the Regrettes, the Riot Grrrl show will give you something to scream about. After that we have Two-Tone Ska! Punk wasn't the only thing coming out of England in the 1970s: We'll dive into the catalogs of the Specials, Madness, the English Beat and more. Rude boys (and girls) assemble! Last on this list we have Led Zeppelin IV! No description needed for one of the greatest albums (and band's) of all time. Stairway, Black Dog, Rock n Roll, and much more. ZEP!
Cleveland West Winter 20/21 shows: Round 1/3. We have 10 “mini shows” this season. Each show will have around 10 students and rehearsal time will be 1.5 hours. This will help us provide the optimal social distancing while still having a blast rockin’ out! Round 1 includes Stevie Wonder, one of the most influential and successful artists of all time! We will dig into his greatest work as we bring the funk and soul! Next we have AC/DC's iconic album, "Back in Black". Get ready to tackle some of their biggest songs and remind everyone that "Rock n Roll Ain't Noise Pollution". The final show of this round is System of a Down! This has been a long time coming! We are stoked to finally honor this Armenian-American heavy metal band formed in 1994. This is your chance to get heavy as we journey through tunes from the band's catalog.
October is Bullying Prevention Month. When you are in for a lesson or rehearsal make sure you stop up front and sign the poster pledging to “speak up, reach out, and be a friend whenever you see bullying”.

Cleveland West spring show announcement 3/3! Show 8: "The MEME Show"! We're doing it! The rumored Meme Show is a reality! What song did you not know existed until you discovered it in a meme? What songs do you think deserve a spot on the list? Never Gonna Give You Up? All Star? Wonderwall? Show 9: Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On" We celebrate the album Rolling Stone Magazine dubbed "The Greatest Album of All Time". This epic Soul/R&B album will be on full display! Cleveland West spring show announcement 1/3! Show 1: David Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust"! Join us as we honor Bowie's 1972 glam/proto masterpiece! Show 2: "Blurillaz"! We will dive into all things Daman Albarn. From the chart topping hits of Blur to the genre bending sounds of The Gorillaz we take a journey through the mind of this British songwriter. Show 3: "No Doubt" This 90's band took the world by storm blending rock, punk, funk, and pop into their sound. This show is a great challenge on every instrument! Cleveland West Student Spotlight: Rachel Neumann! Rachel has done 11 shows so far at SoR Cleveland West and is currently singing in the Stevie Wonder show! Rachel’s favorite show so far has been Queen which just happens to be her favorite band. Her favorite food is pizza and in her free time she loves to bake! She gives us weekly baking updates and we love it! When she grows up she wants to be a US Ambassador. Rachel is a talented and positive member of our community and it shows on stage! She always brings it not only vocally but also has some of the best stage presence we’ve seen so far! We are so lucky to have her in our program! Congrats Rachel!

Released in March of 1973, this was Pink Floyd's eighth studio album and propelled the band to international recognition. This album is to thank for many artists who were influenced by Pink Floyd including Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, and U2.
