We’re so excited to tell you about our new program: Songwriting!
School of Rock’s Remote Songwriting Program is designed to teach students the fundamentals of songwriting and arranging in an interactive group-class setting. Through exercises, activities, and hands-on experiential training, students will learn to articulate and express creative ideas, overcome writer’s block, analyze songwriting techniques, collaborate with others, and accept constructive criticism, all while writing and arranging their own original songs.
Feel free to contact us with any questions you have about the program and enrollment!

Meet our fearless music director: Adam!
A 2009 Berklee College of Music graduate, Adam started playing drums at age 8 in his garage in Northern New York. By the age of 13 he was a founding member of a pop punk band playing small clubs and venues throughout upstate NY.
After moving to Los Angeles in 2010 Adam joined the rock group Cosmic Suckerpunch (later Shadow the Wild) and toured playing in the Outside Lands, Bonaroo, SXSW, and Life is Beautiful festivals.
The band had a brief bout of success finding their songs played on radio stations in Colorado and New Hampshire as well as college radio stations across the country. In late 2017 a song Adam cowrote, “Twin Flame”, was featured in the Crackle show “StartUp”.
By 2018 the band had dissolved to focus on other projects. While most of his time is dedicated to teaching, Adam still works regularly as a hired musician in the Los Angeles area.
We miss live shows as much as anyone, but these kids handle their virtual performances like rock stars! Looking back at videos like this makes us that much more excited for this season's shows, as we keep learning how to ROCK in the digital age!
Enjoy this throw back from one of our spring season shows: Rockin' in the Movies.

Meet Dani!
Dani Kardon is a songwriter, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist. Her music education started at the School of Rock Portland, and “ended” at Loyola University of New Orleans. During her time at Loyola, she wrote countless songs that the world will never see, but managed to release two songs. One with her band HEARTWORM, and one as a solo artist. She currently teaches at the Fairfax District LA School of Rock, and recently started managing their social media accounts. She is excited to help her students reach their musical and songwriting goals.
Yet another reason why we’re so proud to be a part of the @schoolofrock community: the company’s REDI initiative, an ongoing effort to increase the representation of Black artists within the School of Rock curriculum. While there is still a lot of work to be done, we’re so excited to share the progress with you.
