About

School of Rock Fairfield provides both in-person and online music lessons for students of all ages. Our programs, camps and workshops for toddlers, kids, teens and adults make learning to play music fun and create great communities of musicians. School of Rock is the leader in performance-based music education. We combine one-on-one drum, bass, keyboard, vocal, and guitar lessons with group practices. Students learn to play music from day one and put on live performances at local venues. Our experienced instructors are local musicians themselves who combine the performance-based School of Rock Method and programs with individual music lessons to get results for your student.

Thankful for a heck of a week! Looking forward to Fall Season, get signed up! 203.292.5473 Dave Peck is with William D Vega and 5 others at The Acoustic. September 26 at 11:38 PM · Bridgeport, CT · That's a wrap! Just finished up four days and five shows live streaming the kids from School of Rock Fairfield at The Acoustic. One of my favorite positive things from COVID has been being able to present these SOR shows. It's an absolute pleasure to work with these kids! This week's shows were Pearl Jam/Stone Temple Pilots, Motown, Grateful Dead, Ultimate Cover Band, and Eric Clapton. They're all up on the SOR Fairfield Facebook page if you'd like to check them out. I'm also pretty sure I set some kind of personal record over the last 8 days - live streaming almost 18 hours of music and 70+ musicians. That's a hell of a week, and I'm super grateful to be able to do what I love so often. SO, if you're looking to do a stream soon, hit me up! October is filling up fast but November is pretty wide open right now.

Happened upon this gem. We’re missing the days of jamming up that stairway in the Rock School building and all the action surrounding it. Back when Slosh and Bouldar freely roamed the earth and grew their hair long cuz they wanted to, rather than out of fear of letting family cut it. But, REALLY missing you students who we don’t get to see regularly anymore. We’re looking forward to some normalcy in 2021. Here’s a bonus snap of P-Sauce eating a cannoli. You’re welcome. #wereabandyouguys #schoolofrock #staffofrock #sloshandbouldar

ROCK and get a genuine view into the creation and development of a genre that dominated underground urban music scenes from the early 1970s through the early 1990s. With short and fast-paced songs, hard-edged melodies and singing styles, stripped-down instrumentation, and often political, anti-establishment lyrics, punks eschewed the mainstream and created and evolved a brand new style of music. The setlist includes a pile of legendary material by Ramones, Sex Pistols, The Stooges, The Clash, Black Flag, Misfits, Dead Kennedys, and many more full-throttle essentials.
Kurt Donald Cobain was an American singer-songwriter and musician, best known as the guitarist, primary songwriter and frontman of the rock band Nirvana. Through his angst-fueled songwriting and anti-establishment persona, Cobain's compositions widened the thematic conventions of mainstream rock music. He was often heralded as a spokesman of Generation X and is considered to be one of the most influential musicians in the history of alternative rock. David Eric Grohl is an American musician. He was the drummer for the rock band Nirvana, and is the founder of Foo fighters. Grohl is also the drummer and co-founder of the rock supergroup the Crooked Vultures, and wrote the music and performed all the instruments for his short-lived side projects Late! and Probot. He has also recorded and toured with Queens of the Stone Age. Grohl established himself as a respected drummer with Nirvana and in 2014 was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, along with bandmates Cobain and Novoselic, in the group's first year of eligibility. In 2010, Grohl was described by Ken Micallef, co-author of the book Classic Rock Drummers, as one of the most influential rock musicians of the last 20 years.
Lynyrd Skynyrd sculpted blues and country stylings into a gritty, all-American rock form, kicking out anthems like "Sweet Home Alabama", "Simple Man", and "Call Me The Breeze". The Allman Brothers Band innovated radio rock with the addition of jam and jazz elements along with huge guitar and organ textures, as exemplified in songs like "Ramblin' Man", "Whipping Post", and "Melissa”.
Influenced by the combination of grunge, punk, reggae, surf, ska, funk and more, four amazing bands grew out of the Southern California music scene in the 1990s. Since, 311, Weezer, Sublime, and No Doubt have dominated the modern rock radio waves and stages all over the world.
Houseband is our varsity team of students. Selected by competitive audition, houseband students uphold the highest standard of musicianship and professionalism at our school. This season, houseband will be performing a review of contemporary music ranging from 1970’s soul to 2010s indie pop. Some of our favorite artists in the set include The Beatles, Lake Street Dive, Led Zeppelin, System of A Down, Frank Zappa and Duran Duran, among others. We especially encourage the attendance of current Fairfield SOR students: we hope this performance inspires you to strive for a houseband audition! SoR 2021 Presents: House Band
Aretha Louise Franklin was an American singer, songwriter, actress, pianist, and civil rights activist. Franklin began her career as a child singing gospel at New Bethel Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan, where her father C. L. Franklin was a minister. At the age of 18, she embarked on a secular-music career as a recording artist for Columbia Records. While Franklin's career did not immediately flourish, she found acclaim and commercial success after signing with Atlantic Records in 1966. Hit songs such as "I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You)", "Respect", "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman", "Chain of Fools", "Think", and "I Say a Little Prayer" propelled her past her musical peers. By the end of the 1960s, Aretha Franklin had come to be known as the "Queen of Soul”. Franklin recorded 112 charted singles on Billboard, including 77 Hot 100 entries, 17 top-ten pop singles, 100 R&B entries, and 20 number-one R&B singles. Besides the foregoing, Franklin's well-known hits also include "Ain't No Way", "Call Me", "Don't Play That Song (You Lied)", "Spanish Harlem", "Rock Steady", "Day Dreaming", "Until You Come Back to Me (That's What I'm Gonna Do)", "Something He Can Feel", "Jump to It", "Freeway of Love", "Who's Zoomin' Who", and "I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)" (a duet with George Michael). She won 18 Grammy Awards, including the first eight awards given for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance (1968–1975). Franklin is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold more than 75 million records worldwide. Franklin received numerous honors throughout her career. She was awarded the National Medal of Arts and the Presidential Medal of Freedom. In 1987, she became the first female performer to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She also was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005 and into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2012. In 2010, Rolling Stone magazine ranked her number one on its list of the "100 Greatest Singers of All Time" and number nine on its list of "100 Greatest Artists of All Time". The Pulitzer Prize jury in 2019 awarded Franklin a posthumous special citation "for her indelible contribution to American music and culture for more than five decades."
