Join us Friday, October 16, for a free gig at the Christ Church in Vernon Hills. The Libertyville House Band opens at 7 followed at 8:30 by 176 South, the well-rehearse adult band of the School of Rock Libertyville.
It's a large space with a great sound system in the old Carson's space on Ring Drive adjacent to the Hawthorn Mall.

We had a great gig Sunday as the Libertyville House Band shared the stage with our compatriots from Arlington Heights at Hey Nonny. The band unveiled "Smoke on the Water" and finished with another inspired version of "Cult of Personality." Thanks to Jim and the folks at Hey Nonny for a great evening.
It is with great professional and personal pride that I share with all of you that we have officially been awarded a patent! The U.S. Patent Office (Pat. 10,891,872) has formally awarded us a patent for our revolutionary School of Rock Method™. This further solidifies our position as the leader in performance-based music education, and will ensure that our innovative methodology can only be found at School of Rock.
This patent is described as a “Method and Apparatus of Music Education,” and contains 14 separate claims. These claims cover various aspects of our Method, including descriptions of the makeup of our Method Engine, how we provide feedback to students individually or as a group, casting songs with groups of students at varying levels of proficiency, incorporate show themes, determine when musical concepts are taught, and more.
So proud of this accomplishment.
Her first two REMOTE SONGWRITING classes have been great successes and she's enrolling students again for her Saturday morning class that starts February 6.
Marissa's students have written some fantastic songs that range from pop to rock, and she's applying all her music knowleged to bringing out the songwriter in students of all abilities and ages.
The classes will start at 10-10:30 through a ZOOM program developed specifically by the School of Rock. The program will run for 8 weeks and conclude with creation of a demo of the student’s creative work.
The program costs $100/month for two months. (Note: We need five students to hold this class.)

The courage of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. made the nation a better place for everyone. We owe considerable to this great man's efforts and dedication. He had a vision of a world where we judge on the content of character. It's not so hard to imagine how his dream improves the lives of everyone.
