About

School of Rock Mason provides both in-person and online music lessons for students of all ages. Our programs, camps and workshops for toddlers, kids, teens and adults make learning to play music fun and create great communities of musicians. School of Rock is the leader in performance-based music education. We combine one-on-one drum, bass, keyboard, vocal, and guitar lessons with group practices. Students learn to play music from day one and put on live performances at local venues. Our experienced instructors are local musicians themselves who combine the performance-based School of Rock Method and programs with individual music lessons to get results for your student.

Let’s help local Lauren Wooten get her doodle on to Google! See voting link below. Her doodle is in the grade 10-12 category. Voting ends on Friday, so please vote now. Kristin Shrider Wooten shared a post to the group: Mason and Deerfield Township Neighborhood Group. August 17 at 12:24 PM · UPDATE 8/31/20: Well, Lauren did not win in the final round, folks. Thank you so much for all of your support and encouragement though! We are still excited that she won for Ohio! Here is the link to see the national winners: https://doodles.google.com/d4g/ UPDATE 8/22/20: Voting has ended. THANK YOU SO MUCH to EVERYONE who has supported Lauren! We are so very grateful for your encouraging words, support, and for your votes!!! The link to vote is www.doodle4google.com In early March, our daughter Lauren created a Doodle for the 2020 Doodle for Google contest. This year’s theme is “I show kindness by…”. As part of her submission, Google asked for a description of her Doodle to tell them what she’d drawn and how it represents “I show kindness by…”. Lauren’s response was “Kindness is all the little ways of showing that you care; encouraging others’ interests and creations, loving yourself, loving animals in need, planting trees to help the earth, or even simply helping someone out with some heavy lifting.” In 2019, Google received over 220,000 submissions for this contest. We presume they received a similar amount of submissions this year as well. Google picks only one state winner from each state and territory for a total of 54 winners. They pick a minimum of 10 state winners from each of the five grade groups that range from K-12. Lauren is in grade group 10-12. There are then 5 national finalists who are chosen, one from each grade group, based on the votes received from the public and the Google judges. The national winner is chosen from these 5 finalists by Google and will have their Doodle on Google’s home page for a day, in addition to other prizes including a college scholarship. The Google judges chose Lauren’s submission to be this year’s State of Ohio winner! We are blown away. The public voting starts today and goes through Friday. We would greatly appreciate your support for Lauren by voting for her Doodle and sharing this news with others! The link to vote is www.doodle4google.com Bill Wooten is with Zach Wooten and 9 others.
