Little Wing Program Instructor Job Description
Little Wing is a School of Rock (SoR) program that encourages 4-5 year olds to reach developmental milestones through fun musical activities. The curriculum was developed by a leading early development consultant and is designed to inspire the social and cognitive development of a child while enriching their language, musical literacy, and physical development.
The Little Wing Program Instructor is a part time role with responsibility for ongoing development and execution of the program. This individual will be expected to provide instruction in a fun and engaging manner that will prepare Little Wing participants to successfully move into the next phases of the School of Rock musical education program. He or she must demonstrate a warm command of the lesson room and be capable of communicating students’ musical progress to parents as well as other SoR staff.
The ideal candidate:
● Has a passion for and experience working with children under the age of six (6)
● Understands the basics of music (pitch / amp / beat) but doesn’t need to be a musician
● Is organized, prepared and always on time
● Is enthusiastic and energetic while also calm in their interactions – able to relate well to both students and parents
● Exudes happiness – demonstrates a positive demeanor both in person as well as over the phone
A definite plus but not required:
● Educational credits in early childhood development
● A theatrical past with an understanding of / experience in how to engage an audience
● A background in dance or vocals
