The traditional approach to music education is to learn the parts and then put them together. Then there are guitar teachers who teach kids how to play songs, but they don't teach the students how and why the songs work. At School of Rock, we provide the instant gratification of learning the song first AND we teach them the theory behind the songs so that they can apply that knowledge to other songs. On top of that, we offer a combination of private lessons and band rehearsal to keep kids engaged in learning and having fun while doing so.

Cole started rocking on guitar with us a couple of years ago and, though he was very young, he was so talented, he skipped over Rock 101 and jumped right into our performance program. He’s been blowing us away with his super skills ever since. Recently, Cole’s brother, Ryan, started taking drum lessons with Jimmi, and he’s absolutely KILLING IT! School of Rock has proudly partnered with Independent Venue Week in the efforts to help save our stages. Independent Venue Week is taking place between October 24 - 30. This year they are hosting a fundraiser to benefit the NIVA Emergency Relief Fund, a fund dedicated to providing a financial lifeline to the venues and promoters suffering from catastrophic revenue loss. Hosted as an eBay for Charity auction, the Independent Venue Week fundraiser will donate net proceeds directly to the NIVA Emergency Relief Fund through the Giving Back Fund. These venues play such an important role in our student's musical journeys. School of Rock, LLC has made a donation to the relief fund, helping to promote Independent Venue Week, and we are donating items to their silent auction to help fund the NIVA Emergency Relief Fund.⠀

So last weekend the kids I work with at @schoolofrock.randolph put on their end of season show live in the studio at Sonic Boom Studios in Raritan, NJ. They absolutely killed it and I had a blast taking pictures and making them look like rockstars. It really gives me hope for the next generation to see so many youngins playing multiple instruments and jamming OG songs.
