Dress up your car, your kids and yourself and come check out this FREE, fun drive-by haunted house! We'll have the Watertown Police, Fire and DPW on board to help set the scenes as well as some local businesses!

School of Rock has proudly partnered with Independent Venue Week in the efforts to help save our stages. Independent Venue Week is taking place between October 24 - 30. This year they are hosting a fundraiser to benefit the NIVA - National Independent Venue Association Fund, a fund dedicated to providing a financial lifeline to the venues and promoters suffering from catastrophic revenue loss.
Hosted as an eBay for Charity auction, the Independent Venue Week fundraiser will donate net proceeds directly to the NIVA Emergency Relief Fund through the The Giving Back Fund. These venues play such an important role in our student's musical journeys.

A virtuoso electric bassist and teacher, he garnered the most fame as the bassist of the jazz fusion band Weather Report.
Throughout his life he played alongside many artists, Pharoah Sanders and Kenny Garrett, Lenny White, LL Cool J and even pop stars Lady Gaga and Madonna.
In addition to producing other artist, he released his own album "Bottom's Up" in 1989.

The American singer-songwriter, is known for her singles, "You Know How To Love Me", "Living All Alone", and "Don't Wanna Change The World".
Hyman's debut solo album named Phyllis Hyman was released in 1977.
She also performed on Broadway in the musical tribute play for Duke Ellington called "Sophisticated Ladies". She received a Tony award, nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a musical, and won a Theatre World Award for Best Newcomer.
Unfortunately, Phyllis took her own life in 1995.

Odetta Holmes (1930-2008) is an American folk singer, she was known for her spirituals and became one of the outspoken voices of the civil rights movement of the early 1960s.
Born in segregated Birmingham Alabama, she earned a degree in classical music from Los Angeles City College. Eventually she moved to New York City and recorded "Odetta Sings Ballads and Blues" (1956) and "At the Gate of Horn" (1957).
In 1963 she sang at the March on Washington.
She's been awarded the National Medal of Arts and named a Living Legend. Odetta is also responsible for inspiring Bob Dylan and "turning him onto folk singing"

BB King (1925-2015), born Riley B King, is the King of the Blues.
Born September 16, 1925 on a plantation in Itta Bena Mississippi
At the age of 22, he hitchhiked to Memphis Tennessee in pursuit of his music career. In 1948, he performed on Sonny Boy Williamson's radio program on KWEM, this proved to be his first big break.
Not only has King been inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but he has a trademark on his Gibson guitar and each one made has been called Lucille.
King has inspired Eric Clapton, George Harrison, and Jeff Beck to name just a few.
