Woods High School - Woods Middle School - Woods Lower School: three levels of School of the Woods offer a total continuum of interactive Montessori education in an accredited and unique learning environment, from age 2-1/2 through Grade 12. Curriculum is personalized by Montessori-credentialed teachers according to each student's individual needs, interests and abilities. School of the Woods is Houston's oldest continuously operating Montessori school - independent, non-sectarian and non-profit, it is a Full Member School of the American Montessori Society, and accredited by AdvancED (formerly the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools). Educational programs encompass: Woods Lower School (Early Childhood-Kindergarten, Elementary Grades 1-3, Upper Elementary (Grades 4-6); Woods Middle School (Grades 7-8); and Woods High School (Grades 9-12). Auxiliary programs include dance, gymnastics, before/after-school care, tutorials, instrumental music, debate, sports -volleyball, basketball, soccer, swimming and track. Summer programs include theatre workshops, reading/math skills classes, and more. Each year there are two big social events for families -in October, the Chili-Cook-Off and the Spring Picnic in late Spring
