Due to COVID-19 Schoolhouse Pediatrics has made some changes to ensure our patients, team and community remain healthy. We want to assure you that we are open for our patients. The following revisions are designed to ensure our clinic is safe for our patients and employees.
• We will see only well patients during the morning hours. This is to minimize exposure to those who might be ill. We will see sick patients in the afternoons.
• We recommend that only the patient being seen and one parent/guardian come in for the visit.
• Our physicians and providers are available for telemedicine appointments throughout the day. Please call 512-327-1155 to determine if your child’s symptoms are appropriate for a telemedicine appointment. Your provider may determine that an office visit is necessary based on the telemedicine appointment. Well child exams cannot be conducted by telemedicine.
• We will have staff in protective gear throughout the clinic, especially during our sick clinic. Please do not be alarmed, our goal is simply to protect everyone. We are taking temperatures for all staff and visitors. If 100.0F or greater, we will not allow entry into the clinic during well clinic times.
Before your appointment, we need you to answer the following questions.
• Have you had a temperature greater than 100.0F degrees in the past 7 days?
• Have you been in contact with anyone who has or may have COVID-19?
• Do you have cough or respiratory symptoms?
• Have you traveled outside of Central Texas in the last 14 days? IF yes, where did you travel? If a COVID-19 hot spot and you have symptoms, we may recommend scheduling a telemedicine appointment.
We encourage you keep up to date on well child appointments especially when immunizations are recommended. It is more important than ever to build immunity to vaccine preventable diseases. One of our providers can be reached 24x7 by calling 512-327-1155 and following the instructions.
The following steps are recommended to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses, including influenza and COVID-19:
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
• Cover your cough or sneeze with your elbow or a tissue
• Practice good hand hygiene by washing your hands often, using soap and water or hand sanitizer for at least 20 seconds. Singing the Happy Birthday song twice takes 20 seconds.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
Thank you for trusting Schoolhouse Pediatrics. We are here for you.
