Scott C. Hippeard, MD, believes the key to successful medical care is listening to each of his patients. At his Roanoke, Virginia, medical practice, Dr. Hippeard has experience in multiple areas of healthcare, providing his patients with the highest-quality, comprehensive care at each visit. His compassion for his patients and the overall community even earned him a Top Doctor award from the International Association of Healthcare Professionals, and the SWVa Living Reader’s Choice Best Family Doctor in 2017.
Dr. Hippeard has a love of both history and music, but he became interested in helping others through medicine at a young age. While in school, Dr. Hippeard earned the J. Ambler Johnston History prize for having the highest major average and has continued to pursue his love of music by playing the timpani and drums in area musical theaters and the Bedford Community Orchestra.
Earning his undergraduate degree at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Dr. Hippeard pursued his medical degree at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville. He completed his residency in transitional medicine from Carilion Medical Center at the University of Virginia in Roanoke.
While Dr. Hippeard addresses all issues that affect his patients’ health, he specializes in customizing treatment plans for chronic conditions like asthma, allergies, depression, anxiety, and skin conditions. Dr. Hippeard is also fully trained in minimally invasive laser treatments for skin rejuvenation, lesion removal, and body contouring. He has also co-authored articles for medical publications.
When not tending to his patients, Dr. Hippeard spends his time with his wife, Lisa, a licensed clinical social worker, who also manages his practice. They enjoy recreational and church activities with their three children: twin daughters, Madeline and Abigail, and their son, Christopher.
Dr. Hippeard is also an active member of Melrose Masonic Lodge A.F.& A. M. #139 and the Kazim Shrine A.A.O.N.M.S in Roanoke where he serves as secretary/treasurer and the drummer in the Kazim Band.
