Would you come?
Families today need a break. If a loved one has special needs, you know that Rainy Day feeling. We want to be a source of support, a place to meet a mentor, a place to build skills. We are outlining a special Sunday afternoon outdoor program for the fall. We will use a round robin format to have an activity for everyone. Our goal: to provide family friendly activities at Rainy Day Farm, 409 Bath Road Brunswick. Social skills training, arts and crafts while you learn dog training skills with your pet. 5-three hour sessions $125. Scholarships are available. This fall program includes a dog obedience class with 35 year veteran Master trainer, John Palange of Palange Dog Training Center of Belgrade Maine. We are sensative to COVID-19 concerns. We are ready to be a resource for your unique family. Please note your interest and ideas.
Should we postpone till spring?
We are also seeking ideas, mentor volunteers and participants for youth centered 1 on 1 projects. We have work to do, let's get started!

It's a Mentoring Center, a destination for connection.
Merging Financial Planning with Life Skills - As my 24th year of serving clients approaches, we are growing at Rainy Day Farm. Investments, elder planning, insurance, income strategies and quality time with our youth. Highlights this week were the mini bike rodeo, planting, footpath and a new fence. With 7 "Grow To Give" Gardens planted, we need volunteers, by appointment, Brunswick, Maine. So many teens need a few hours with role models. There's joy in working together, let's get started!
Seven "Grow To Give" gardens planted, we turned our attention to a driveway fence and some soffet repairs. Busy times at Rainy Day Farm.
Ever try to kayak against the wind? Ever have a storm arrive when you didn't expect it? As I reflect on the markets of the past few months, I am reminded of how we observed a mature bull market and overexuberance for greater than 24 months. Those who focused portfolios to greater stability in late 2019 were rewarded with tolerable downturns in March and modest gains in April and May.
With a new whirlwind of economic news of the horizon, I want to urge you carefully evaluate the tools and strategies you have as we await calmer seas.
Tools to carry:
- adequate cash reserves, like those energy bars, water and foil blanket you stow in kayak hold.
- a long term focus and understanding of your timeframe. Planning a trip, you need both map and compass.
- technical information sources and strategies. I carry a paddle float when kayaking. It is a device which inflates to provide stability in the event I overturn and need to get back in the kayak. Many specialized investment products may fit your circumstance. But you'll need to learn their use and have them at the ready.
- a trusted advisor to provide, perspective and over sight. An advisor can act as your guide or navigator. The advisor can help educate you on the pros and cons of of your choices.
If your financial affairs look like this, it might be time to get some assistance. It took some time and effort, but I did sort this out and we did catch some fish. Somehow today a very happy and soaking wet labradoodle ended up at my feet, at the office. This before she was spooked by a hornet in the back seat of my truck. Here's the financial question:. Are you ready for the unexpected? Or is it time to unravel some line?
Some times face-to-face is best for important financial discussions. Here you see the conference room side of the bankers window. My college student took over the space Saturday for study.
After our last meeting tonight, here's the view of our greenhouse.
And there's some heavy duty planning happening too!

We are here to fight the isolation. Sometimes you need face-to-face. For talking to a friend or counselor, catching up with a senior, or financial planning. At Rainy Day Farm Mentoring Center the east conference room (and bankers window) offers a SAFE way to be in touch. Book by appointment. Set up a healthy habits chart with your kid. We will help you build-out the reward field trip. Winter cookout, sledding, skating, a private COVID-safe art or dance project. Our volunteers will make it a motivational memory. Dogs optional!
