After 9/11, New York City was gifted with half a million daffodil bulbs from a Dutch bulb supplier to honor those lost. And the Dutch city of Rotterdam added another half million. Today there are more than 7 million bulbs planted across NYC. To remember and honor those lost to covid 19, another daffodil project has blossomed called Hope Garden. The response has been amazing from around the world. Across the United States, Canada, England, Ireland, Scotland, Thailand and more are planting that little bulb of hope. There will be no monuments or walls built to honor and remember the many loved ones we have lost. But next Spring there will be a glow so bright around the world from the daffodils.
