Ps. the frequency and time of exposure is super important. Basically that means, allow your little ones to have a treat over a short time span and then rinse with water and wait 30 minutes to brush and floss. ✨

Today I want to discuss a common condition affecting tooth development. Enamel hypoplasia.
We see hypoplasia in our office quite frequently. Most of the time it is mild to moderate but I do want to help raise awareness to this common malformation. Parents are often told their child has hypoplastic or “soft” teeth, but don’t really know what that means.

It is with great pleasure and excitement that we will be welcoming Dr. Sarah Boyles to our practice in February, 2021! She is a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist and we are honored to have her join our team!
Dr. Sarah was born and raised in Cartersville, Georgia. She attended the University of Georgia for her bachelor’s degree in biology and then attended the Dental College of Georgia. She was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society and graduated with her DMD degree in 2015.
Lexington, Kentucky became her next stop where she attended the University of Kentucky for her two-year Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program. During her residency she gained training in pediatric restorative dentistry, advanced behavior management techniques and pediatric growth and development. After her specialized training in pediatric dentistry, she continued her education and is now a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist and Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Sarah recently relocated to Bluffton with her husband, Jayson, and their two children Margo and Henry. They are very excited to experience the low-country lifestyle with their family! She is looking forward to joining Sea Smiles in February and cannot wait to meet all of the patients and families alongside Dr. Shane and his team!
