Don't ruin Valentine's Day ... by setting off the alarm!
Deliveries are fun, but balloons left unattended often trigger motion detectors, and those aren't quite as much fun. Remember to bypass zones you may have balloons near when setting your alarm.
Happy Valentine's Day from the Security Tech Team! 💘
As a reminder, our offices will be closing at 3pm Tuesday, December 24th for Christmas Eve; and will remain closed for Christmas Day.

Are you ready for Daylight Savings Time?
Your security system records alarms and other events, so it’s important that its internal clock is correct. If you already receive our monitored text and email alerts, your system will update automatically and you don’t need to lift a finger! However, if your system is tied to a standard telephone line, you may need to update the time manually.
All systems are a little different, so if you don’t have your manual handy, call our office and our technicians can walk you through updating the time on your Alarm Panel, Video or Access System.
Halloween Safety Tip #6: Avoid open flames!
Halloween home security isn’t just about preventing burglary and vandalism. It’s about safety. Don’t make the mistake of using candles and other open-flame luminaries. They create a serious fire risk! Consider battery-powered votive candles and light sticks for your decorations instead.

Halloween Safety Tip #5: Consider motion-sensor lights.
If you don’t already have motion-sensor lighting around your home, this is a good time to consider it. These lights can prevent burglars as well as pranksters, and it’s more energy-efficient than keeping lights turned on all night.

Halloween Safety Tip #4: Going out? Don’t make it obvious.
Whether you’re headed to a Halloween party or taking your child trick-or-treating, be sure that your house remains well lit. It’s okay to keep the front light off if you don’t want kids knocking on your door. Just be sure to leave some lights on inside the house.

Halloween Safety Tip #3: Close the garage!
An open garage door on Halloween night is an invitation for theft and vandalism. Keep it closed – with your car parked inside it.

Whether you're heading to a holiday party or a day at the mall, take a tip from Kevin McCallister and be sure that your house remains well lit! Holiday lights mean extra wires, and often, extension cords. Check that your cords have no frayed ends and are certified for outdoor use. Avoid running them through windows or doors leading inside. The little wedge that wire leaves are all a burglar needs to pry their way in!
