The future’s shining bright!
Filled with such an overwhelming mixture of deep gratitude and hope, as well as guilt that I am one of those privileged to get the vaccine in this first round.
It is a privilege I don’t take lightly. Tears welled in my eyes, as well as those of the nurse who gave me my vaccine (and had just received theirs), knowing the significance of this moment.
As they say, in an emergency you must put on your oxygen mask first. Mine is now donned, and I will use it to continue to care for you and your family, to work towards re-uniting (physically) as a community.
Thank you to all who have and are working so tirelessly in your respective roles. A million times thank you. And when it is your time to roll up your sleeve, please, don’t give away your shot!
