The ancient overhead line to a detached garage fell, so we replaced it with a new underground feed
.
The existing overhead line consisted of 3 individual wires and were about 7 1/2 feet off the ground.
.
Minimum clearance required is now 12 feet.
.
Plus there were tons of tree branches above... now they will have nothing to worry about.

It isn’t often that a homeowner has THIS much comprehension of their home’s electrical system!
We were very impressed to look through his detailed notes and diagrams and did our very best to label the circuits to his standard 😀
Yesterday was a late night so no after pictures...
This customer had their electrical service ripped of the wall due to the storm overnight.
As you can see from the photos, there were a couple other issues as well...
Luckily, we were able to make it out and get to work right away.
We will do our very best to help a customer in urgent need.

We had a furry friend named "Faith" helping us this morning on the job! 😁🐱

I mean- we're talking pennies per hour. 💁♀️Because it is so effective at cooling your home and attic quickly, it can be used more intermittently than air conditioning. In honor of our great state today, we thought it would be a perfect opportunity to show an area where we could really do better and take pride in our home state of Kansas...

Unfortunately, we have been trending in the wrong direction.
This week we visited another house fire due to electrical. There many contributing factors to the safety concerns we find on a daily basis. Some of it is on the contractors and some due to lack of regulation.
Here at Service Plus, we are doing our best to help reverse this trend. The best way we have found to do our part is to educate homeowners about their electrical system, showing pictures and doing our best to translate our explanations into plain English.
And though our impact today may be small, it will grow with time...

The one on the left; Service Plus Electrical. The one on the right; the competition. It is highly likely that the homeowner would never see this. However, when you have pride and integrity in your work, it doesn’t matter what’s visible to the homeowner. The cheapest bid is not always the best solution.

⚠️ 🔥 While at a customer’s house for an unrelated job we found a water leak spraying all over the electrical wires. This is a HUGE *shock hazard 🔥 👀! We immediately shut the valve off, addressed the problem and contacted the home owner. Your safety is our priority. We are thankful to have caught this before someone was *shocked 🙏🏼
