Beginning Monday, Jan. 18, low-to-moderate income Dearborn residents unable to pay their rent, mortgage or utilities due to the financial impact of COVID-19 can apply for up to $5,000 to cover up to six months’ worth of bills through a new grant program offered by the City of Dearborn Government.

The Dearborn Fire Department will continue to vaccinate those 65 and older March 5 thru March 11. Register today for an appointment at www.cityofdearborn.org . Follow this page for additional dates and times.
City of Dearborn Government is sharing a COVID-19 Update.
The City of Dearborn Government is offering 500 appointments for people age 65 and older to receive the COVID vaccine on Thursday, March 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The limited number of appointments for March 4 will assist the City in its test of its online system, in an effort to make sure appointments flow smoothly in the future.
Those 65 and older are asked to visit www.cityofdearborn.org to access the online appointment system for Thursday slots. Appointments must be made online.
Vaccinations are by appointment only and will take place at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave. This is not a walk-in clinic and no one without an appointment will be served.
Those with appointments are asked to go through the theater entrance, which is on the west side of the building.
Masks are required to enter and remain in the building and must cover your mouth and nose. Those with appointments will be asked to show their I.D. and will be screened at the door prior to receiving the vaccine.
Vaccines are administered by the Dearborn Fire Department. The vaccines administered on Thursday are from Moderna. People will receive a date for their second appointment once they receive their shot.
It is anticipated more appointments will open soon via the online system.
The City hopes to operate its vaccination center on a regular basis for people who reserve their slot through the online appointment system. It is expected that appointments will be required at all times.
More appointments will be available as vaccines are supplied to the City by Wayne County. The City can’t control the supply of vaccines.
People are advised to check www.cityofdearborn.org regularly for a chance to schedule an appointment.
The City of Dearborn is following the criteria established by Wayne County for who qualifies for a vaccination. As of March 3, Wayne County has specified that only people who are 65 or older can receive the vaccines allocated to Dearborn. Criteria may change rapidly.
As of March 3, Wayne County residents, including those in Dearborn, may also seek vaccine appointments through their health care systems and designated pharmacies.
Visit https://www.waynecounty.com/covid19/home.aspx for details.
Wayne County has selected Dearborn to administer vaccines to residents in Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, Allen Park, Garden City, Inkster, Redford and Melvindale.

Mission accomplished! We delivered more than 600 coats to Zaman International - Hope for Humanity today. Thank you to all our community partners who helped get the word out Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce Dearborn Fire Department Dearborn Police Department Dearborn Police Explorer Post 1177 and of course Buddy's Pizza for the comfort stations and free pizza for donors! Truly a community effort.
The Zaman International - Hope for Humanity coat drive was such a success we had to improvise hanging racks to sanitize. And we’ve barely made a dent in the truck load! This may take a while.
