Do not hike or go on walks this weekend with dogs. It is not worth heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Malibu Search and Rescue Team (Malibu SAR) - LASD September 4 at 10:36 AM · ***HEAT WARNING*** Do not hike this holiday weekend, especially with dogs. The San Fernando Valley, Santa Monica Mountains and Malibu Coast will experience excessive heat!! Last year’s Labor Day weekend was a disaster with 8 hikers rescued from multiple locations during excessive heat conditions on Labor Day 2019 alone. One additional hiker perished that day. We strongly recommend that you avoid any outdoor exercise unless very early in the morning. Keep yourselves and our first responders safe by staying cool and hydrated. #sar #searchandrescue #teamwork #savinglives #firstresponders #heatexhaustion #heatstroke #hydrate #hydration.

Amy Kennedy‎Shadowridge Veterinary Hospital August 20 at 11:00 PM · I am so grateful that you were able to see my elderly parents’ elderly dog today when their vet was out of town and urgent care had five hour waits. Dr. Lisa was caring and compassionate when we had to make the hard decision of euthanasia. Mom and Dad couldn’t be there but I was with him. Thank you for doing the best for Henry and caring for our family.

So happy that Scooby has found a forever home. We did his surgery and he is a wonderful dog. Labrador Rescuers of San Diego October 6 at 6:34 PM · Scooby came to LR with an injured leg that ultimately needed to be amputated. Scooby made a full recovery and has officially been adopted!! Scooby is very lucky to become a part a phenomenal family that includes 2 parents, 2 human siblings, and a cat! Scooby’s mom is a professor and is looking forward to taking Scooby to her dog-friendly workplace once it is safe to return. She not only wants to use Scooby as sort of an ambassador but also wants to integrate him into her classwork as an example of overcoming obstacles and not letting disabilities get in your way. Scooby will have very little alone time as his dad works remotely, as well. Scooby has lots of new friends to meet, local parks to visit, and will be able to spend some time doing some short hikes on the local trails. Along with occasional trips to the beach. This is such a good match-up! We’re so happy for Scooby and his new forever family!

I just saw this memory in Facebook. So here is Dr Lisa on her first day five years ago! Shadowridge Veterinary Hospital November 5, 2015 at 6:18 PM · We are excited to announce the addition of Dr. Lisa Leraas to our Veterinary team at Shadowridge Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Lisa is a 2001 graduate of UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and also has BS in Biology and a minor in Art History from LMU. She will be seeing patients in our San Marcos Hospital weekdays. Dixie, her pet chihuahua mix, was the only one of her four dogs and two cats and four chickens that would hold still long enough for a photo with her. Please stop by and say hi and welcome her to our team. We know you will love her!
