Knowing 1% of dentists have been infected. During the shut down it seems like the greater benefit would have been for dental offices to stay open for hygiene only services.
I bet we could calculate the reduction in hospital utilization and mortality by reducing VAP in covid patients and see a much larger benefit than expected.
If every dentist/office (160k) saw 20 hygiene patients a day, in the course of 3 weeks every US citizen could have had their teeth 'cleaned'. This would have only cost taxpayers $66 Billion for 22% reduction in need for ventilators.

At least one preventive dental visit within three years reduced the likelihood of a VAP diagnosis by 22%.
