Columbus day? Nah. Indigenous People’s day? Yeah.👇🏽
The truth about Columbus:
1.) He didn’t “discover” the American continents in 1492. When he got to present-day Bahamas, millions of Native people (Taino, Arawak, Lucayan) had been living there long before he came. 14,000 years before Columbus’ 1451 birth to be exact.
He then enslaved and exploited them - setting a precedent of Europeans coming to American continents, exploiting Natives and stealing their land.
2.) He was a brutal, violent, murderer, r*cist, r*pist.
This isn’t even the tip of the iceberg.
