We keep elderly and disabled people out of Nursing Homes who don't need to be there. We match them with people looking for a place to stay.
Shared Housing of New Orleans is a nonprofit organization that has been around for 30 years. Our goal is to match single people in need of a place to stay with older homeowners who need someone around the house. We want to keep people out of nursing homes and provide live-in help and companionship for homeowners and housing for homeseekers.
We are always excepting applications for new homeowners and homeseekers. All applicants go through a background check and are interviewed by an RN. Then we take the time to match the right home owner and seeker together. The program director at Shared Housing of New Orleans is a registered occupational therapist.
At Shared Housing of New Orleans we do not provide direct care nursing but we do work in conjunction with home health agencies.
