Shawna Hughes, MD, FACOG, treats women of all ages, from pre-teen to post menopause and provides routine examinations, treatment of gynecologic conditions, contraceptive counseling, onsite ultrasound and pregnancy care. She is an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Columbia University Medical Center and affiliated with NewYork-Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital, where she performs deliveries. Dr. Hughes has published research in robotic-assisted gynecologic surgeries in the Journal of Gynecological Surgery, Surgical Science, and Journal of Robotic Surgery. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists and is board certified. Dr. Hughes earned her medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine and completed her residency at Women and Children's Hospital at SUNY at Buffalo, where she was named Chief of Medical Student education and won the Shashikant Lele Award for excellence in gynecologic oncology as well as the Nichols Award for excellence in gynecologic surgery.
