This is the Greens Farm Mill Bridge in Grayson and Breckinridge Counties of Kentucky. Also known as the Falls of the Rough Bridge. This is an outstanding example of a mid-1870s King Bridge Company cast and wrought iron bowstring truss bridge. And old National Bridge Inventory sheet from 1992 listed the bridge as built in 1918 and reconstructed in 1938. These might indicate rehab or relocation dates. The bridge has an 1877 plaque on it. The bridge has been closed to vehicular traffic, but remains open for pedestrian usage.

Kentucky Monthly magazines feature article this month is about the R.E. Fennell Co. in Lexington. Specializing in custom-made leather goods, Fennell’s was founded in Cynthiana in 1909 and moved to Lexington in 1925. Charlie Glenn’s parents bought the business in 1963, and it has remained in the family since, earning a reputation for excellence in Kentucky and beyond.
Glenn explained how the materials, methods and attention to detail make Fennell’s unique. But that’s not all. The store’s history is also intertwined with his story and his mother’s. “It’s not just a small business,” said Glenn, who has worked at the store full time since 1986. “It’s very much a family business.”

Today is Groundhog Day! The first official Groundhog Day celebration took place on February 2, 1887. It was the brainchild of local newspaper editor Clymer Freas, who sold a group of businessmen and groundhog hunters on the idea.
The men trekked to a site called Gobbler’s Knob, where the inaugural groundhog became the bearer of bad news when he saw his shadow.
Nowadays, the yearly festivities are presided over by a band of local dignitaries known as the Inner Circle. Its members wear top hats to conduct the official proceedings and they supposedly speak to the groundhog in "Groundhogese".
Question: In what city and state does the official Groundhog Day celebration take place?
Answer: Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania
