The field of urology covers a number of problems in both men and women. Dr. Freedman treats all of these areas with a specific emphasis on sexual dysfunction, urologic oncology, pelvic floor reconstruction, stress incontinence, and stone disease.
Dr. Sheldon J. Freedman completed his undergraduate degree at Temple University in Philadelphia. He graduated from medical school at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia in 1977. His residency in urology was completed at Washington University in St. Louis in 1982. Dr. Freedman has been in practice in Las Vegas since 1983 and is on staff at most of the local hospitals. He was Certified by the American Board of Urology in 1984. He is a member of the American Urological Association and the American College of Surgeons in addition to many other professional organizations. His medical practice deals with urologic problems in men and women with special emphasis on sexual dysfunction, urologic oncology, pelvic floor reconstruction, stress incontinence, and stone disease.
Dr. Freedman has had a strong interest in research and has many clinical trials available to residents of Las Vegas. Together with Cynthia Freedman, RN, studies have been completed on prostate cancer, BPH (enlarged prostate), overactive bladder, bladder cancer, sperm mobility, and PCA3 testing. This work has led to numerous publications in well-respected journals concerning Urology. Dr. Freedman speaks frequently for several types of audiences including seniors, hospital personnel and pharmaceutical representatives about urologic conditions and available treatments.
