In April, Shell Federal Credit Union recently began construction on a parking garage and sky bridge located across from the Credit Union’s corporate office at 301 E 13th Street in Deer Park, Texas. The highly anticipated parking garage will contain four stories and include 668 employee parking spaces. A sky bridge will expand across 13th St. to a tower connecting to the current building for staff access. Here is some additional information about the new parking garage and Shell FCU’s future plans ... 1. The board desired to keep the corporate office in Deer Park and found a solution to a staff growth challenge (current building is at capacity) and remaining in the Credit Union’s hometown 2. Keeping the corporate office in Deer Park will create many jobs in the foreseeable future 3. More people working in Deer Park creates more spending, tax income, businesses and additional jobs from businesses 4. The current parking looks slim due to the CDC’s social distancing recommendation, therefore some staff are working remotely (currently 219 employees office out of the Deer Park branch, which also doubles as the corporate office) 5. Shell FCU is growing strong, stable and hiring additional staff to assist in all areas 6. The homes next to the parking garage have been contacted, heard and will have the peace of mind knowing a reputable business is near their home 7. All the necessary precautions are being made for safety and an underground retention is being built to assist with drainage 8. The parking garage will be for the Shell FCU staff (projections are to employ more than 700 individuals at the Deer Park location over the next 20 years) 9. A new multi-story corporate business office will be built on the corner of Thirteenth and Center St 10. The project – which includes construction of a parking garage and sky-bridge – will significantly increase both staffing capacity and parking at the corporate location. Specifically, the four-phase construction project includes a four-story parking garage with 668 parking spaces with a sky-bridge which will expand across 13th street to connect the parking garage to the current building, a new five-lane drive-through for the current credit union building including 2 through the wall ATM’s, a new four-story building designed to office nearly 500 employees, and a remodel of the current credit union building which will hold over 200 employees. The full construction project is scheduled to take between 20 and 24 months, with the project scheduled for completion in Spring 2022. “The Board of Directors has expressed their deepest desire for the corporate office to remain in Deer Park. Since 1937, Deer Park has been Shell FCU’s home. To continue providing exceptional service to our members, we must grow and thus hire additional staffing. This creates many challenges and parking was one of them. This new structure is going to be one of a kind, especially in Deer Park. This is our home and our goal is to continue to give back to our community,” said Jose Rodriguez, CEO/President of Shell Federal Credit Union. Residents and area drivers are advised that Thirteenth Street near the construction site will be closed for two full Saturdays in the coming months. The closures will allow for the installation of the sky-bridge. Additional information including detour routes will be provided as it becomes available. “We are very excited to see this major project completed in Deer Park,” Mayor Jerry Mouton said. “This development represents a very significant investment on the part of Shell Federal Credit Union, and we truly appreciate their commitment to our community.”

The caller eventually claims to need the member’s username and password for online banking. Once inside online banking they start transferring funds out of the account. Shell FCU will NEVER request your User ID, Password, or any one-time-PINs needed to log in to online banking. This information is personal to you and we urge you to NEVER share that information with anyone. If you are unsure of the identity of the person on the phone, hang up and call us back at our main number, 713-844-1100. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you!
