He was a visiting professor at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York City, where he earned his medical degree and PhD in orthopedic surgery. For his residency, Dr. Shen attended Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and later completed fellowship training in orthopedic and neurosurgical spine surgery at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center.
