I wanted to share this story with you all that a client said to me the other day.
They asked
“are you not worried about competition around you?”
And the answer is NO, I’ll tell you why. Dogs are just like children, the way they socialize - the way they share toys. Taking your dog to a daycare is like taking your child to school. Would you want to continually change schools for your 4 year old? Of course not. That’s re making friends constantly and it’s not really good for building relationships. Just like your pup, you go to a new daycare and your pup is starting from the ground up. Re making friends. Getting comfortable again. Etc. The answer will always be no. Our clients are like family. We all look out for these fur babies like they are our own and we’re proud to say so! 🐾 🐾 🐾

November is National Pet Diabetes Month and we will be taking some time over the next few weeks to spread awareness and information about the condition.

This week, we’ll start by talking about what pet diabetes is. Diabetes is a disease of the pancreas, which prevents your pet’s body from producing or using insulin properly. This means the pet cannot convert food into energy, which causes the body to begin breaking down fat and muscle tissue to convert to sugar.

If your pet is exhibiting symptoms of diabetes, your veterinarian will perform a blood test. Those results combined with the symptoms a pet is showing will allow for a diagnosis. Treatment for diabetes in pets generally consists of insulin injections, proper diet, and daily exercise, but every pet is different, so your veterinarian will provide your pet with the best course of treatment for them. With proper management, pets diagnosed with diabetes can live long and healthy lives!

Happy National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day! We know quite a few four-legged friends who are big fans of this snack! As long as it doesn’t contain xylitol, peanut butter can be a great treat for your pet! Freeze some in a Kong toy to keep your pet occupied for hours! It can also be a good tool for hiding medication your pet may not be interested in taking on its own. Share your best friend’s favorite way to eat peanut butter with us in the comments below!

Traditionally, this plunge or swim takes place on New Year’s Day, because after a dip in icy waters, nothing the new year could bring could possibly faze you!
