Some weather odds and ends ... My hometown (Rome NY) had a freeze this morning as the mercury dipped to 30 degreed. That is the earliest freeze on record ... the previous earliest freeze was September 26, 1929 ! Denver, CO just had their 94th day this year with a temperature of 90 degrees or higher ... an all-time record) ! Didn’t it just snow there? :) ... Tropical Storm Beta (another record) poses a significant flood threat over the next several days for coastal areas of Texas and perhaps Louisiana with its slow movement !!

Ok, it appears that a week of pretty quiet weather is on the way, but around the 16th of January, winter will try and assert itself over the central or eastern United States. Not record breaking or anything like that, and there is some question as to whether it will be lasting. Nevertheless, some winter weather fun (activity) seems likely.
