Just in case all of the photos from the State Fair did not display on the last post I am posting them again here so apologies for any duplicates! We all had such a fun time.
Since we can't take a trip to the State Fair of Texas this year we brought a taste of the fair to Southlake on Wednesday. The Residents and Staff had a fun afternoon filled with funnel cake , corn dogs, fried pickles, fried Oreos, snow cones and popcorn. We also had our own Midway with fun games and live music by Harold Huertas. A great time was had by all!

We've been celebrating the last weekend of Summer! Looking forward to pumpkin lattes, autumn color and cooler weather!
Espirit had a tropical Happy Hour on Friday and Lakeside had a taste of things to come... we'll be putting our own spin on the State Fair later this month!
Today was national Watermelon day so we had the best excuse to make fun watermelon cut outs and eat as much as we wanted. Doesn't watermelon make you feel like summers as a kid? Well it sure hit the spot today for our Lakeside folks! Yum!

Caring for Individuals Living with Dementia during the Pandemic
Yesterday we celebrated our Associates with a fun Associate Appreciation Day. We started our morning with donuts from Duncan Donuts and special coffee from Starbucks.
During our All Staff meeting we had yummy food from Chicken Express donated by one of our families. We had prepared special Silverado bags full of treats for our folks and played a fun game of question and answers with some surprising prizes. Even our Zoom group got to participate in our Q&A game.
We rounded out the afternoon by handing out our Silverado Hero pins and birthday cupcakes to all of our Associates. The Residents enjoyed being part of the day and celebrated too!

We had a fun time this afternoon during our Mad Hatter Tea. We enjoyed home made strawberry walnut chicken salad, butterfly shaped sandwiches, and yummy cookies. Our new fascinators made quite the fashion statement!

We had a great time bringing in the New year complete with yummy food, a sparkling toast, and plenty of photo booth photos to add to the fun. Silverado- Southlake wishes everyone a very Happy 2021!
Even though 2020 has not been a normal year we have created many joy filled moments with our Residents and today was a wonderful example. Today we got to enjoy the fruits of our labor during our Christmas Eve Hot Chocolate party! Santa came to hand out stockings for all the residents and we sang a Carol or two during the party. Many thanks to Jennifer Dolan for being our awesome Santa!

Happy Birthday Brian!
Today we started our afternoon with a Birthday celebration with Brian. Then we made some noise with our first "drum fit" class. It's loads of fun and a great workout at the same time. It's definitely a keeper!
On Thursday we had our Happy Hour Fiesta with a Mexican twist! We enjoyed tasty mini tacos, margaritas and Mexican beer. Got in some dancing complete with conga line. Fun was had by all!
January 24-30 is National Activity Professionals week! I'd like to give a shout out to our phenomenal Engagement staff! They are committed to bringing physical, social & cognitive engagement to our Residents every day- along with lots of joy, laughter, singing, dancing and general silliness.
Thanks to Jennifer, Yvonne, Rebecca, Carrie, Adrian and Renee for everything you do for our Residents every day!
On Friday we had Octoberfest in January- just because! It was loads of fun. We sang, danced the chicken dance, drank German beer and ate home made brat sandwiches and German potato salad- yum! Here are a few moments from the day
