SAFETY is first and foremost here at Sistine during the pandemic. This is what we’re doing at our practice in order to keep both our patients and staff healthy:
• PPE for staff including PAPRs, n95 masks, gloves, goggles
• Patients are required to wear masks to their appointments & are asked to keep them on if their treatment allows (like this patient for example)
• Thorough sanitization of treatment rooms & other high-touch surfaces
• Temperature checks for our staff and patients before entering the building
• Patients must call when they arrive to their appointment. No more waiting room.
• Optional outdoor treatment area at select locations with Dr. Leong
• Mandatory COVID testing for any of our surgical patients
• And of course, lots of hand washing!

This lady from Pittsburgh was bothered by her protruding ears. As you can see, it was worse on her right side compared to her left side. An otoplasty procedure (otherwise known as ear pinning) was performed and she was very pleased with the results. Otoplasty procedures are typically performed in our procedure room in the office and don’t require general anesthetic – only some oral pills to relax the patient and local anesthetic. Sometimes with smaller children it is preferable to perform the procedure in the operating room to reduce anxiety around the procedure.
This patient’s main goals prior to having closed rhinoplasty surgery with Dr. Leong were to:
1. reduce the moderate hump on her nasal dorsum
2. conservatively tilt the tip of her nose upward

Because this patient did not desire any significant changes to her nasal tip, Dr. Leong was able to perform this surgery with a closed technique. This means there were no external incisions on the nose. Please note that the shape of the tip from the basal view is about the same, just as the patient requested. Dr. Leong makes the decision with each patient as to whether they should have their rhinoplasty performed open or closed and this is discussed in detail during the consultation.

This patient’s main concerns before having open rhinoplasty surgery with Dr. Leong were:
1. the “hump” on her nasal dorsum
2. the under-rotation of her nasal tip (the way her nose tilted downward)
3. the over-projection of the tip of her nose (extended too far forward from her face)
It was important to this patient that Dr. Leong did not reduce the size of her dorsal hump drastically. In these “after” views you will notice a more refined nasal dorsum and nasal tip as well as a more balanced relationship between the patient’s nostrils and the sides of her nose. This open approach involves a small incision on the skin between her nostrils. As you can see, this incision has healed to be nearly undetectable! Finally time for Dr. Leong to get touched up! 💉🎉 Here’s a video of our Nurse Injector, Jenna, injecting Dr. Leong with Dysport. He is receiving treatment to soften the lines between his brows, around the eyes, and across his forehead. Results can take up to 2 weeks to take effect but most patients start to notice a reduction in movement sooner than that. Dr. Leong will be recording his facial expressions every day to track the progression of the Dysport throughout the 2 weeks!

Here are various before and after examples of what results can look like after masseter Botox! You can see that these patients have slimmer jawlines after treatment.
