Our patient’s and staff’s health and safety remain our highest priority amongst this pandemic. SkinMD wants you to know we are utilizing the most up to date information regarding COVID-19 and are continually updating our protocol to enhance our employees’ and our patient’s safety.
During the pandemic, Dermatology Practices are considered an essential business. In addition, Governor Pritzker’s recent order allows for increase access to non-life-threatening procedures (elective procedures). If you have skin concerns, we want you to know we are here for you.

What we are doing:
Prescreening patients, check-in process and social distancing:
During this time, SkinMD is taking extra precautions by pre-screening patients when making appointments and before checking in by asking several screening questions to ensure the safety of everyone. We are also practicing social distancing by rearranging our waiting area, limiting the waiting area to patients only, removing shared items such as magazines and pamphlets and allowing patients to wait in their car and receive a call once their room is ready. Patients also now have the option to be seen in the office or virtually through telemedicine.
Telemedicine Visits:
Telemedicine visits allow patients to be seen without ever coming into the office! Patients will connect with their provider through a computer, tablet or smart phone. Diagnosis and treatment of many dermatological conditions such as acne, psoriasis, limited rashes or minor skin concerns may be accomplished via telemedicine visits. Safety Measures:
Patients should feel safe being seen in our office. Keeping our clinic clean and sanitized has always been a top priority. However, we have now enhanced our cleaning effort. As always, all clinical staff will be washing and sanitizing their hands and rooms between patients. Our staff is also continuously disinfecting high-touch surfaces. Staff members are now also required to wear masks, protective eye shields.
