Many of you know and love our front desk receptionist in the Sun building, Tokina Brown. Tokina is being promoted to the Insurance Authorizations and Credentialing Department at Sky Bridge! She is very excited to work with families as she helps them navigate insurance benefits. Don't worry, the morning families will continue to see her bright smile at the front desk in the Sun building from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
What a fun time Riley had today working with the "What Would Danny Do?" social stories book. The book comes with a cape and Danny Doll to make therapy even more fun!

What is Dyslexia and How is it Treated? -
Meet our Occupational Therapy (OT) Department Head, Cynthia (aka "Cindy") Bonilla, who joined our Sky Bridge Therapies team in July.
Cindy has over 14 years experience working in pediatric OT in schools and clinics. She was even a camp OT mentor for an autism camp for 3 years!
Some of Cindy's fondest memories are working with kiddos. She says kids teach her how to laugh, to realize that there is more than one way of doing things, and she loves being accepted into their world!
Cindy is a firm believer that learning should be fun, and it does NOT always have to occur in the classroom! Sky Bridge Therapies has created the perfect learning environment--a place where kids feel safe and are excited to learn!
Meet our new Speech Department Head, Allyson Vaccaro-Pelton!
Allyson comes to Sky Bridge Therapies with over 7 years of experience working as a pediatric speech therapist.
Allyson is the proud military spouse of a Navy Sailor who is serving at Naval Base Kitsap Bangor. While her husband was stationed at Pearl Harbor, Allyson had the pleasure of working with military families in the elementary schools on base as a speech therapist.
Her experience as a military spouse has helped shape her to become a better therapist and provide services to those military families in need.
Can you tell she is excited part of the Sky Bridge Therapies team?
Meet OT Department Head Cindy Bonilla and SLP Megan O'Connell, our certified SOS Feeding Therapists! This certification included 4 days of intensive learning to achieve this certification status.
What is SOS feeding and how can it help you?
SOS feeding is a systematic approach to feeding that addresses oral motor skills (Speech) and sensory processing (OT) to help children eat a wide variety of food groups and textures. While speech and occupational therapists are trained to treat children in feeding therapy, these therapists have a higher level of training that will benefit the children of Sky Bridge Therapies.
We look forward to implementing new treatment approaches with your child in their next feeding sessions.
It's been such a fun spirit week here at Sky Bridge Therapies!
Our therapists are always finding creative ways to incorporate holiday activities into OT/Speech therapy for kids! It is a great way to address therapeutic needs while still making it a FUN activity kids will enjoy!
This is our festive Sky Bridge “pumpkin patch” where kids “pick” a pumpkin off the wall, decorate it, and either take it home, or hang it on the wall display when they finish.
We love finding fun ways for our Sky Bridge Therapies team to connect outside of work!
Friday was our first paint night–COVID style! We painted Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas to get us in the Halloween spirit. Look how great all those paintings turned out!
A recommended read from our Speech Department is "It's Pumpkin Day Mouse!" Shelly from our speech team took the time to create corresponding visuals to help children identify and talk about emotions. A fun grab and read at this time of year.
Next week is Sky Bridge Spirit Week! Our Sky Bridge therapists have been working hard on activities and fun to incorporate into your child's therapy sessions. Each day will include trick-or-treating to practice speech and social skills, craft projects, a spooky scooter board room agility course and a photo backdrop to top off the session. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
