No concern about running out when the deep freeze weather hits. You get all the heating oil you need, before you need it. We assume the responsibility and liability of you never running out of oil. Risk factors: We do ask you to partner with us by letting us know when you make modifications to your home, your heating system or your life style so that we might modify your usage factor to assist in accurate deliveries. If we fail to honor our end of the bargain (we do occassionally make mistakes ? last season we had 11 run-outs while making 25,000 deliveries which equates to 4.4 one hundredths of one percent), we have emergency services standing by to put oil in your tank and get your heating system back up and running at no cost. We know our customers lives are full of many worries whether or not you have oil in your tank shouldn't be one of them. We urge all our customers to defer that responsibility to us. Let us do what we do very, very well. Our Pre-Buy Option is offered each spring and early summer to customers who wish to purchase their winter heating fuel in the off season, when prices are traditionally lowest. Customers pay in the summer for their fuel, and Skylands delivers it through the winter. We'll help you figure out approximately what your gallon usage will be, based on previous years. Each month you receive a statement, showing what your remaining balance is in gallons. This is often the way to pay the lowest per gallon price. Existing Skylands customers can call or email to get a summary of their usage last year, to help determine what you might want to buy this year. If you would like to buffer yourself against a colder than average winter, consider purchasing an additional 100 to 150 gallons and adjust your payment accordingly. Pre-Buy: $3.999/gal. Pay now for the gallons you will use next season. You can also add downside participation to this plan by paying $0.35 per gallon price protection insurance (include this payment with your pre-buy check). Then you will pay the lesser of Pre-Buy or the market price for each of your deliveries. Risk factors: If you need more gallons than you pre-buy (a particularly cold winter might do that), you purchase them at the current market price, which could be higher. Additionally, should the price drop lower than your pre-buy, you are not able to take advantage of the downward movement.
