Had Joe Samples out from IB Roof Systems last week to inspect some roof systems that we installed. The 80 mil PVC membrane has a 30 year material and labor warranty. It's the "IB" Industry Best warranty.
Today we are starting St. Edwards Catholic Church in Keizer, Oregon.
The roof system consists of a complete tear off and back with Densdeck and a 50 mil IB pvc roof system. This project will get a 20 year NDL labor and material warranty.
This is the third and final phase of the project that started about 10 years ago on the old sanctuary. The second phase was a new sanctuary that has a full tapered system on it. The tapered foam was cut from 6" thick to 18" for positive drainage.
Today was the start of the GEM Equipment project. It is a 28000 square foot roof that we are installing an 80 mil IB PVC membrane on. The roof has a 30 year labor and material warranty. The best warranty in the industry!
Slate & Slate Roofing has installed 4 million square feet of this product with no membrane failures. It's absolutely the best material for a low slope roof in Oregon.

Had a wonderful day taking some continued education classes with GAF in Tulalip WA. The financing class was quite interesting on how much it can increase sales. Roofing has become quite expensive over the past 10 years. Materials, labor, shipping and increased OSHA regulations have driven the cost of an average roof up higher than most homeowners expect. A homeowner today can pay $15,000 to $20,000 for quality roof. It is a rather large investment and needs to be looked at seriously. We all know the the standard rule of thumb that you usually get what you pay for.
Most people don't have 15 to 20K readily available. They end up taking money out of their retirement accounts, which I disagree with. That doesn't make sense being that there are usually high penalties associated with doing so. They are also getting high returns right now in the stock market on their investments. A homeowner can usually come out ahead by borrowing the money for a new roof. We do offer financing and it isn't just for the person that can't afford it. It's for everyone that needs a roof.
On the average house the monthly payment can be as little as $250 to $350 dollars per month for 60 months. Knowing that you have a roof over your head that is guaranteed by GAF to perform to the highest expectations for decades is a wonderful feeling as a homeowner.
