Due to COVID-19, we wanted to communicate our commitment to you and your safety.
Changes have been made throughout our office to protect you and our staff including but not limited to:
Our waiting room will no longer be in use. After checking in at the front desk, you will be asked to wait in your car until the staff calls you in for your appointment.
Unless a guardian to a minor, special needs, or disabled, only the patient will be allowed in the building; no guests allowed.
Pre-operative screening questionnaires, temperature checks, and oxygen checks will be mandatory for review prior to your appointment at the check-in desk.
Masks are mandatory for staff and encouraged for patients, but not required.

WE ARE CURRENTLY OPEN FOR DENTAL CARE!
By order of the State of Texas and the Texas State Dental Board, Smith Dental Care was able to open again beginning Monday May 4th.
We have always followed infection control recommendations from the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We continue to follow the activities of these agencies, so that we are up to date on any new rulings or guidance that is issued.
You may see some changes throughout our office to protect you and our staff:
~preoperative screening questions for COVID-19 symptoms directed to all patients and staff as they enter the building
~hand sanitizer is available throughout the office. Please use as needed, especially as you enter the office
~our waiting room will no longer be in use as we will be having all patients wait in their cars. This allows for better adherence to social distancing protocols
~more time needed between patients to guarantee proper cleaning of rooms and we ask for your patience and understanding

Governor Gregg Abbott has issued an Executive Order requiring all Texas licensed health care professionals to postpone all medical procedures, including dental procedures, that are not medically necessary until midnight April 21, 2020. There are penalties for failure to comply. This action is necessary to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. We are very sorry for this inconvenience. We will call you when we can open the practice to re-schedule your appointment.

We want to inform all of our patients and their families that our office will continue to remain open during this time. We are taking the necessary precautions, as we do every day, to ensure a clean and sterile environment for staff and patients.
- Every treatment surface, chair, and instrument is disinfected after every patient. Personal Protective Equipment including masks and gloves are being worn diligently by all clinic personnel. These processes have always been of utmost importance in our office and will continue to be the standards we uphold for our community.
- If any of our staff members or patients have any flu or cold-like symptoms, we advise staff to stay home, and patients to reschedule their appointments until symptoms have cleared.
- If you have traveled within the last 14 days or been in contact with someone who has traveled to a high-risk area such as China, South Korea, Japan, Iran, Hong Kong, or Europe, even if you do not exhibit any symptoms, we request that you please reschedule for 14 days past your original appointment.
Please rest assured that we are following local and national updates daily, and will continue to maintain the highest level of safety and patient care that you have come to expect. You and your family’s health and well-being are of the utmost importance to us at Smith Dental Care.
