President Judge Thomas G. Parisi declared in an order Monday that Berks County Courts will remain in an ongoing judicial emergency until at least June 30. Today, Parisi issued a similar administrative order announcing the Berks Magisterial District Judge System will also remain closed to the general public until June 30.
Both levels of court are handling essential judicial services as needed and encouraging the use of video hearings. Anyone entering the courts are required to wear a mask covering their nose and mouth at all times.

JUST IN: The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has released a Supplemental Order this afternoon, extending its previously ordered statewide courts closure to the public until April 30.
The order includes how the extension of the statewide judicial emergency will affect certain court deadlines and procedures.

County of Berks buildings will remain closed Tuesday, Feb. 2, due to the ongoing snowstorm. The County's 24/7 operations will continue and follow their department's inclement weather policy.
The County will still hold the live, virtual Operations meeting at 9:30 a.m. A press release about the building closure and a link for the meeting can be found at www.countyofberks.com.
