Matthew Sokos, M.D., sees patients at his family medicine practice at Wheeling Clinic and at Belmont Community Hospital’s Powhatan Point Health Center, all divisions of Wheeling Hospital. Dr. Sokos, a Wheeling native, is a graduate of Linsly Institute; West Virginia University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry; and Marshall University School of Medicine with a doctorate in medicine. He served his internship and residency in the Wheeling Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program, serving as co-chief resident during his third year. From 1992-02, Dr. Sokos operated a practice in Wheeling, before serving with Medical and Surgical Associates in Newark, OH, from 2002-04. For nearly two years before opening his new practice at Wheeling Clinic, Dr. Sokos was with the Benwood Medical Clinic. Dr. Sokos is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
